VDWS kitesurfing license (basic license)
International Certificate of Competence
we issue – after appropriate training – a certificate of competence, the “International Kitesurfing Basic Licence”. Compared to the well-known basic licenses from windsurfing or sailing, this card requires a longer training period. The license was developed due to the high safety requirements of the sport and is issued according to the uniform training and examination regulations of the VDWS e.V. The ID card is valid towards the authorities as a proof of competence for the well-founded safety training in kite sports.
The document guarantees that all holders of this card have the necessary basic knowledge and skills and can practice their sport carefully in safe harmony with nature and the environment and in the interests of other water sports enthusiasts.
Training in six stages
The entire training for the “International Kitesurfing Basic Licence” is divided into six training blocks (so-called levels). For each level, the student has to prove and document his qualifications by taking partial exams. Until you have reached level 4, you should first go on the water under supervision, e.g. in “supervised kiting” in order to gain the necessary confidence in handling the kite equipment.
test
For the complete International Kitesurfing Basic Licence, five practical tests and one theoretical test are required. Parts of the practical exam (e.g. launching, landing and safe control of the kite or water start, maintaining height and gaining height) can be checked during a course during a lesson. The theory test is taken after a 1.5 hour theory seminar.
diploma
If you pass the theoretical exam, you will receive your VDWS license. We will take care of the practical parts of the exam during the course or you can show your skills to one of our kitesurfing instructors. Auch einen Videobeweis deiner Fahrkünste lassen wir gelten.
